About:

Heart disease can look different in women, and midlife is when risk often begins to rise, even if you feel well. As estrogen declines, the heart and blood vessels lose some protection, and changes in cholesterol, inflammation, and blood sugar can become more common, especially with chronic stress and sleep disruption.

In this session, Dr. Kandis, ND, and Kathy, NP, will guide the conversation together, bringing functional medicine and conventional clinical perspectives.

They will explain why heart health risk changes in midlife, which numbers matter most, and how to understand what your results may be telling you.

They will walk through a sample lab report, explain key markers, and show how they align with Health Canada screening guidelines, and how “optimal” ranges may differ when the goal is long term healthspan, so you can review your own results with more confidence.

You will also leave with practical, realistic steps to support long term heart health.
